Passport Day!!!

Today was a special day since it is the day that we received Takhiro's passport.  This is one of the key steps for us to bring him home.

The day started with a bath for Takahiro - here is Taka and Mindy drying off on the balcony.

We met Ogawa-san at the train station and headed to Tsukuba to go to the city hall and pick up Taka's passport. It was great getting out of the city and seeing some of the country side.

On our way to Tsukuba, we passed Takahiro's home for the two weeks he was with his caretaker. Its really cool to get to see where he lived, even if for a short time. Taka lived on the 4th floor.

The train ride was overall about an hour and we made it to Tsukuba and walked to the city hall.

Cool thing about Tskuba is they encourage you to use Segways and to watch out for robots. Yes, robots.

Here is Hagiwara-san, Ogawa-san, Mindy and Takahiro waiting for our turn to pick up the passport. We were all very excited.

Finally it was our turn and Hagiwara-san finished out the paper work with the two clerks that were helping us. They were so nice and were excited to see us because they knew we were coming and had seen our info previously. Hagiwara-san has a good relationship with them and it was fun to know they were expecting us. Check out Taka's arm pump; he was excited to get his passport, too.

To celebrate we ended up at a great Korean restaurant in Tsukuba. Here is a sampling of what we ate. I ate "normal" meat but Mindy had cow tongue!

Here is Hagiwara-san with Takahiro. She has such a bond with all the little ones that come through their agency. She has such a kind heart and we were excited to get to know her better.

Taka-chan was a bit sleepy after eating his lunch with us. ;)

Today was a good day and Taka did great for being on the go for around 6 hours. He is so cute, cuddly and awesome and we are so excited to have him as our son.
